Roots for Reece Chef's Picnic 2019

Two years ago, I lost my best friend Reece Byrd to a heroin overdose. He was the kindess, most loving and fun person I have ever known. He was the life of the party where ever he went. When he passed, being an opiate addiction survivor myself, I decided to do what ever I could to help prevent more beautiful souls from leaving this earth to early. I started a fundraiser called Roots for Reece. Local farmers and my self donated root vegetables to local restaurants, and the chefs prepared a dish, and 100% of the proceeds when to the North Carolina Harm Reduction Coalition, a non profit leading the way in opiate overdose prevention and education.  

This year, local chefs, breweries, distilleries, and purveyors are coming together for this Roots For Reece Chef's picnic here at the farm. Come enjoy small plates from 15 local chefs, craft beer, cocktails, wine, live music and more, all under the canopy of our beautiful oak tree! 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the NCHRC.
